Red Squirrel

This stunning red squirrel was in the fork of an old tree between old branches covered in lovely lichen which reflected the summer greens of the leaves.

 

His red fur changed colour in the light and shade of the surroundings and  I love the  pent up energy in that static pose, an awareness of his surroundings.

 

There’s an allegory for all of us here. Be aware of what’s going on around us; live in the here and now and delight in the moment – cos it doesn’t last forever!
